What is Edo Komon?
Edo komon is a komon that has a very small pattern that looks plain from a distance, and is basically dyed with a single color stencil dyeing. In 1955, it is a kind of Komon because of the stencil dyeing method, but it is called Edo Komon to distinguish it from other Komon. The stencils used in Edo Komon are made from three layers of Ise Katagami. A Japanese frame fabric that uses two traditional crafts luxuriously.
(Certified as a traditional craft in 1974)
This pattern
Using Ise Katagami, a traditional craft of Mie, with patterns made from high-quality silk fabric over 100 years ago, the happy image of clover and the happy image of gifts are expressed in the original colors of Ryunosuke TOKYO. We used a special fabric of Tokyo's traditional craft, Edo Komon, which was hand-dyed. It is the ultimate fabric using two traditional crafts.
